Ok, I know I've thrown a crap-ton of information at you. I would be overwhelmed too.
I will give my top three for what my family is doing for prevention and when illness strikes. I hope this helps those who are on a tight budget or not sure what's best to get first.
I'm just going to give my top three, there's more information on my other post with details of each supplement and how we dose.
UPDATE 3/7/20: I highly recommend you buy your supplements now. Grocery stores, websites and Amazon are running out!
Prevention of Illness
High Quality Probiotic. These are highly beneficial for gut health. Fermented foods are also very beneficial
Vitamin C and high doses of it. Been proven to prevent and treat many varying illnesses. More information on this post and dosing on this one.
Vitamin D Most of us are deficient and it's so important in boosting our immune defenses.
And if you can splurge, I highly recommend this iodine. Great for immunity boosting, thyroid protection, and detoxification. If we are adequate on iodine and our thyroid is properly functioning, then we can covert carotene form carrots and sweet potatoes into vitamin A (spirulina is also a great natural source of vitamin A).
And colloidal silver for boosting immunity and killing viruses and bacteria. UPDATE: since the shortages on colloidal silver and we are not leaving our homes, I am saving this for when we are out and about or illness strikes.
When Illness Strikes
Vitamin C is number 1! You can read more about it here on my post. And dosing information here.
Colloidal Silver Amazing antibacterial and immune boosting properties. It is proven to kill 99.9% of viruses and bacteria. It's very beneficial to nebulize after going to stores or work-it will kill all bacteria and viruses in the mucous membranes and lungs. It can also be taken internally. Read more about it here.
Oil of Oregano can be used as an antibiotic, antiviral, antibacterial. It tastes awful, and will make you smell like Italian food, BUT it works. It is NOT an essential oil.
Garlic cloves- I added this because it is cheap with great antibacterial and immune boosting properties. Prevention- I heavily cook with it during the winter. I slip it in everywhere I can, even cooking rice. Illness-For me, I crush 2 cloves, let it sit for 10 minutes and then swallow with water 3 times a day when I'm ill. Letting it rest after being crushed allows the allicin to be released, which is the biological compound in garlic. You may tolerate it more if minced and added to honey.
Again, more information in detail on each supplement here. Here's information on Preparing for the Coronavirus
