School at Home

Most if not all schools have been closed around the US. Many parents now are staying home with their children, because most child care facilities are also closed. The government announced two days ago that if people need to stay home due to illness or children being out of school, their employers are still required to pay them, and in return, the companies will get credits or tax breaks. Small business owners will also get funding and/or tax breaks. I feel they set this into place, because there will be a mass quarantine of some degree in the coming days.
SOOOO... many people have no clue where to start to keep their children educationally occupied during times like this. I have gathered some resources for you. Many are online, but I also encourage you to buy printed materials or print things at home in case of power outages or internet outages.
MAYBE nothing will happen, but I am all about preparedness. You can read more of my blog posts about preparedness and prevention.
I am not going to go through age groups, but many of these resources are for varying age groups. These are all things we have and use!
Workbooks under $10
Kumon Books These work books are amazing and Pre-K-8th. You can click the link and scroll down to see which ones are for your kids age group. They are very age appropriate. We love these for summer and to keep up during the school year. Each day has a math and language section. And all answers are in the back of the book.
PreK/K Sticker Workbooks. What child doesn't love stickers. These have stickers that correlate with learning activities like counting or letters, etc. Also some pencil exercises. ABC Book, Math Book, Multi-book
Bob Books Not workbooks but these are the best pre-reader books on the market! Just a few pages and start with simple words so your child can work their way up to other books in the pack.
Eraser board books. These are a good change of pace-something different for your kid to do than plain pencil and paper and reusable! Math and ABC
Movies
Leap Frog Movies. I know some parents are against TV, but these have done an amazing job teaching my children their numbers, shapes, ABC, and phonics!
